Key Responsibilities

As a Tax Accountant at Roma Taxation Services, you'll work closely with a diverse range of clients, providing practical tax and business advice while building long-term trusted relationships.

Your responsibilities will include

- Preparing financial statements and income tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, partnerships and self-managed superannuation funds.

- Preparing and reviewing Business Activity Statements (BAS), Instalment Activity Statements (IAS)



and other compliance obligations.

- Providing tax planning and proactive advice to help clients achieve their financial and business goals.

- Assisting clients with business structures, capital gains tax, Fringe Benefits Tax, GST and other taxation matters.

- Liaising directly with clients to answer queries and provide practical, easy-to-understand advice.

- Managing your own portfolio of clients while ensuring work is completed accurately and within agreed timeframes.

- Liaising with the Australian Taxation Office and other government agencies on behalf of clients.

- Supporting business advisory services, including cash flow, budgeting and business performance discussions.

- Reviewing bookkeeping records and identifying opportunities to improve client processes and efficiencies.

- Mentoring and supporting team members where appropriate.

- Keeping up to date with changes in taxation legislation and professional standards.

About You

You'll be someone who enjoys working closely with clients and takes pride in delivering quality advice and exceptional service.

Ideally, you'll have:

- A degree in Accounting or a related discipline.

- CA or CPA qualification (or currently studying) is highly regarded.

- Previous experience in Australian public practice accounting.

- Sound knowledge of Australian taxation legislation and compliance requirements.

- Experience using Xero and cloud-based accounting software (preferred).

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.

- The ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining a high standard of work.

- A proactive, client-focused approach with excellent problem-solving skills.

- A current Australian driver's licence and the right to work in Australia.
