The Tax Administration Assistant plays an integral role in supporting the Accounting and Financial Advice teams by providing high-quality administrative support across a broad range of taxation and compliance functions. Based in our Melbourne CBD office, this part-time position is responsible for assisting with the preparation and processing of client documentation, maintaining accurate records, coordinating regulatory lodgements, liaising with clients and government agencies, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the practice.
The role requires exceptional organisational skills, solid attention to detail, and a proactive approach to delivering professional service.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and process taxation and accounting documentation.
- Assist with the preparation and lodgement of tax returns, BAS, ASIC documentation and other compliance requirements.
- Liaise with clients, the ATO and other external stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate client records and digital files.
- Monitor workflow deadlines and follow up outstanding client information.
- Coordinate appointments and provide administrative support to the accounting team.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Previous administration experience, within an accounting or professional services firm.
- Excellent organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Experience with Xero, MYOB, XPM, BGL or other accounting practice software is highly regarded.
