Position Information
Chester Hill High School (CHHS) is a comprehensive, co–educational secondary school situated in south-western Sydney and is part of the Auburn Schools Educational Network. The school encompasses an Intensive English Centre and has one Inclusive Support Class. Chester Hill High School has a current student enrolment of 1046 (872 mainstream, 174 IEC). The school is culturally diverse, with 80% of students possessing a language background other than English. Chester Hill High School has approximately 80 refugee or refugee–like students and a growing number of students with an Aboriginal background.

Selection Criteria
Approval to teach Learning and Support and/or experience, skills and knowledge to teach Years 7-12, with demonstrated recent experience working with students with disability and additional learning and support needs. Demonstrated contemporary knowledge and application of inclusive education principles, differentiated pedagogy, and evidence-informed intervention approaches across literacy, numeracy, and prosocial behavioural domains.
Highly developed interpersonal skills ,with the demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with classroom teachers, executive staff, SLSOs,
parents/caregivers and external agencies as part of a whole-school Learning and Support Team.
Demonstrated ability to identify student learning needs through diagnostic and assessment data, and to design, implement and monitor individual learning plans and personalised learning pathways that improve student outcomes.

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
