Your role at St John of God Accord

We are currently seeking enthusiastic and motivated Community Support Workers to provide high‑quality support to individuals attending our Day Services and Group Programs across our Community Campuses in Melbourne's north and west, including Greensborough, Glenroy and Sydenham. A Community Support Worker will work a variety of shifts between 8:30am and 4:30pm, Monday to Friday. Positions are offered on a casual basis with the potential for permanent employment for the right candidates.

Responsibilities

- Participate in a range of appropriate programs and activities (recreational, pre‑vocational, education and social) aimed at increasing the individual’s skills and access to and participation in the community.
- Provide the highest level of support for all individuals supported and ensure each person is treated with respect, dignity and rights at all times.
- Assist in achieving individual, team and service goals and objectives.
- Seek ways of improving the standards of service by working closely with colleagues, relevant line managers and contributing to meetings.
- Maintain a high level of service for all individuals and ensure the health, wellbeing and safety of all people supported and staff is maintained at all times.
- Support the identified needs of individuals in relation to their particular life circumstances.
- Ensure that where required attendance to personal care needs of clients is undertaken in a professional, empathetic and timely manner.





Qualifications

- Experience liaising with families and circles of support, service providers and community groups.
- Sound written and communication skills, able to multi‑task and work under pressure and capable of working independently with an individual or group of people.
- Eligibility for an NDIS screening check, a valid Australian Driver's Licence, a Working with Children check and a First Aid Level 2 certificate.
- Experience in the disability sector and/or possession of a relevant qualification is highly regarded.

- Hourly rate: $32.87 to $51.81 (inclusive of casual loading) plus 12% Superannuation.
