Position Overview
Moree Secondary College is situated on Gamilaroi country and is part of the Connected Communities Strategy. It services the students from the agricultural region surrounding and within the township of Moree (town population 7000). 67% of our college students identify as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander.
The college is committed to creating connected classrooms with staff who have completed targeted professional learning to strengthen their knowledge and understanding of assessment capable visible learners. We continue to create robust connections with the school community to improve attendance and engagement inclusive of Moree community groups, Moree Local AECG and external agencies.
Our campus is located in the centre of Moree and offers recreation, sporting, banking, performing arts and shopping facilities. This position also offers additional incentives under the Rural Teacher Incentives program and welcomes early career and experienced teachers to apply.
Qualifications
- Approval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students with Mild Intellectual Disabilities, Autism, complex behaviour and emotional needs.
- Demonstrated ability to differentiate the curriculum, develop, implement, assess, monitor and evaluate plans to meet the academic, social, emotional and behavioural needs of students.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to maintain effective partnerships with students, parents, the community and colleagues to support student learning and engagement.
- Demonstrated classroom management skills that support the learning, behavioural and wellbeing needs of a range of students.
Benefits and Conditions
Recruitment Bonus: $20,000 (conditions apply). The bonus will be paid on a pro‑rata basis for permanent part‑time teachers and executive staff. The maximum recruitment bonus available for a position is $20,000, including any job share arrangements.
Relocation Support Payment: $5,000 up to $8,000 available for eligible applicants.
Unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

If the recommended applicant is seeking permanent part time employment (FTE from 0.1 to 0.9 inclusive), they will be offered an appointment at their desired FTE.
