Randstad is excited to be supporting a major team within the public sector, to source a highly skilled Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting Specialist.

This key assignment offers up to 12 months of impactful work within a large, complex organisation. You will serve as the core subject matter expert, taking ownership of expert taxation advice, technical accounting interpretations, and statutory financial reporting.

- Location: Brisbane
- Contract Details: Up to 12-Month Contract

Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary source of expertise for all taxation and taxation policy requirements.
- Provide authoritative guidance on the interpretation and application of Australian Accounting Standards, taxation legislation, and internal financial policies.
- Provide input into the coordination and preparation of statutory consolidated financial statements, ensuring high compliance, accuracy, and transparency.
- Prepare reports and presentations for audit committees and key stakeholders while collaborating with external auditors and regulators.




- Oversee and deliver technical accounting training and guidance across the organisation while driving continuous improvement in financial reporting processes, systems, and internal controls.

Requirements & Qualifications

- Full CPA or CA qualification along with a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- Extensive recent background in taxation, technical accounting, and statutory reporting within a large, complex organisation.
- Ability to interpret and apply Australian Accounting Standards, legislative changes, and financial reporting frameworks.
- Strong communication and influencing skills with experience in advising executives, external stakeholders, and mentoring skilled staff.
- Experience with SAP is highly desirable.
