I'm currently working with a promising early stage business that works across document verification, a growth market and one with a well documented string of recent failures that have embarrassed major consulting firms.

We're looking for a technical co-founder to complement the original founder and drive the next stage of development.

The product is in beta, with real engineering and real data behind it: a typed pipeline under regression test, an independent build and security review, and a labelled corpus with adversarial test pairs supporting the accuracy work.

What that person looks like

- Senior engineer or engineering leader, ten years or more, who still builds
- Has taken a product from prototype to production and owned it once it was live
- Deep in one of: applied machine learning, information retrieval,



or data platform engineering
- A research or quantitative background, and the judgement to know when a result is real and when it is an artefact of the test set
- Has worked with LLMs in production, not only in prototypes
- Can set technical direction and defend it, rather than wait to be handed a spec
- Comfortable being the only engineer for a while
- Melbourne based
