About the Role A highly respected multidisciplinary engineering consultancy with an exceptional reputation across New Zealand is expanding into Australia and is seeking an experienced Technical Director – Fire Engineering to lead its Australian Fire Engineering division.

With an established client base and a strong pipeline of high-profile projects already secured, you'll be joining a business with genuine momentum in the Australian market. You'll work on the design and delivery of complex commercial, residential, healthcare, education, hospitality and mixed-use developments, partnering with leading developers, architects and contractors.

The position is fully remote, with Melbourne-based candidates preferred to support local client relationships and future team growth.

Duties

- Lead the Australian Fire Engineering division.
- Provide technical leadership across complex fire engineering projects.
- Develop and review performance-based fire engineering solutions.
- Mentor and develop Fire Engineers.
- Build and strengthen relationships with clients, architects and project stakeholders.




- Drive business development and identify growth opportunities.
- Collaborate with the executive leadership team on strategic growth initiatives.
- Remain hands-on technically if desired.

About You

- CPEng Fire Engineer (essential).
- 7–10+ years' experience delivering fire engineering projects within the Melbourne market.
- Extensive experience preparing performance solutions and fire engineering reports.
- Strong knowledge of the NCC, Australian Standards and performance-based fire engineering.
- Experience across commercial, residential, healthcare, education, industrial or mixed-use developments.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams or mentoring engineers.
- Strong commercial acumen and relationship-building skills.
- Business development experience is highly regarded.
- Passion for building and growing a high-performing team.
