Technical Lead (3 Month Contract), with potential to go permanent

We're building the next generation of digital products, platforms, and ecosystems at Mustard, and we're looking for a Technical Lead to help shape what comes next.

This is a senior, hands-on contract role within our Digital Futures team, starting as a 3-month engagement with a genuine prospect to convert to permanent for the right person. If you enjoy solving complex problems, exploring new technologies, and building future-fit solutions, this is for you.

Our Digital Futures team is evolving beyond traditional delivery into product-led platforms, connected ecosystems, and innovation-driven solutions. We need an experienced lead who can hit the ground running and make a real impact from day one.

Key responsibilities:

- Lead technical vision and architecture across products and platforms
- Act as a technical authority on emerging technologies including AI and automation
- Contribute hands-on across front-end and back-end development
- Define scalable engineering standards and solutions for a range of digital products
- Solve complex challenges and ensure high-quality delivery

About you:

- 5+ years as a Technical Lead with a strong full-stack background




- Strong leadership and team management skills are a must
- Proven delivery across digital products and platforms, ideally within fast-moving environments
- Hands-on with React, Next.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, APIs, and headless CMS
- Experience with AWS, Docker and Kubernetes, CI/CD, Git, and modern DevOps practices
- Confident in shaping architecture and guiding teams
- Able to start at short notice and open to permanent opportunities
