The Opportunity

With IMDEX now bringing together Datarock, ALT and Mount Sopris, this role sits at the intersection of data acquisition, interpretation software and automated analytics.

As part of this combined group, Datarock is building the next generation of televiewer analytics, combining industry-leading geological expertise with machine learning and software innovation. We're looking for a highly experienced Televiewer Specialist who wants to play a pivotal role in transforming how acoustic and optical televiewer data is interpreted and delivered to customers worldwide.

This is a unique opportunity for someone with deep hands-on televiewer interpretation experience to help create an entirely new product offering for the mining and civil construction industries. You'll bring real-world expertise into product development, working alongside data scientists, machine learning engineers, software developers and geotechnical specialists to automate workflows that are currently manual, time-consuming and expertise-dependent.

Reporting to the Lead Geotechnical Engineer, you will initially take ownership of televiewer interpretation delivery and customer outcomes while acting as the technical authority for televiewer across IMDEX and Datarock.

As our automated televiewer capability evolves, you'll increasingly shape the product itself, helping define user requirements, customer workflows, product features and quality standards. Your insights will directly influence how the software is designed, how customers interact with it, and how machine learning models replicate expert geological interpretation.

Key Responsibilities





- Lead interpretation and delivery of acoustic and optical televiewer data for customer projects.
- Act as the subject matter expert for televiewer interpretation across the business.
- Collaborate across the IMDEX ecosystem, including Datarock, ALT/WellCAD and Mount Sopris, to connect televiewer hardware, interpretation workflows and software product development.
- Develop and maintain interpretation methodologies, quality standards and validation processes.
- Work closely with data scientists and machine learning engineers to automate fracture, joint and structural geological interpretation workflows.
- Define customer needs, user journeys and product requirements for a new televiewer software platform.
- Translate geological and geotechnical workflows into software and analytical requirements.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Operations and Commercial teams to shape roadmap priorities.
- Engage directly with mining companies, geotechnical engineers, structural geologists and service providers to gather insights and feedback.
- Support customer demonstrations, pilots and product adoption initiatives.
- Help establish a new customer-facing business line within the IMDEX and Datarock ecosystem.

About You We're interested in experienced industry professionals who have spent significant time interpreting televiewer data and understand the complete workflow from data acquisition through to customer delivery.

You will likely have

- Approximately 7+ years' experience within mining, geotechnical, geological or related resources sectors.
- A degree in Geology, Structural Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, Geoscience or a related discipline.




- Extensive experience interpreting acoustic and optical televiewer data.
- Strong understanding of structural geology and geotechnical workflows.
- Extensive experience using WellCAD.
- A background with a geophysical, geological or geotechnical service provider, consulting organisation or specialist contractor.
- Experience working directly with customers and stakeholders on technical projects.
- The ability to communicate complex geological concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- A passion for technology, innovation and improving industry workflows.
- Wireline logging or downhole geophysics experience (highly regarded).
