We are looking for a Production Assistant to join our Electrical Cable Supports team.
This role is not a management position and would suit a Leading Hand, tradesperson or experienced workshop employee looking to move into a production support role.
If you have a background in sheet metal, fabrication or manufacturing and understand how a workshop operates, this could be an excellent opportunity to broaden your experience while working closely with our Production Manager.
About the Role
Working alongside the Production Manager, you will help keep work moving through the workshop and assist with the day-to-day coordination of jobs.
This is a practical, hands-on role involving regular interaction with workshop staff, suppliers and office personnel.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow up jobs throughout the workshop
- Track work through laser cutting, folding, fabrication and assembly
- Assist with organising external services such as galvanising
- Help identify delays and keep production on schedule
- Provide updates on job progress and delivery expectations
- Maintain job records and update job information in the system
- Provide general support to the Production Manager and production team
About You
- Experience in sheet metal, fabrication or a manufacturing environment
- Good understanding of workshop and production processes
- Organised and reliable with good attention to detail
- Able to communicate effectively with both workshop and office staff
- Basic computer skills, including email and Excel
- Ability to read workshop drawings is an advantage but not essential
