Opportunity for career growth within a growing and reputable painting business. Task & responsibilities The successful applicant will be responsible for: Preparing surfaces by removing old paint and wallpaper, repairing cracks and holes, sanding, cleaning and applying sealants and primers.
Mixing, matching and preparing paints, stains, varnishes and other finishes to achieve the required colour and texture. Applying paint, varnish, stains and protective coatings to interior and exterior surfaces using brushes, rollers and spray equipment. Hanging wallpaper, applying decorative finishes and carrying out texture coating where required.
Measuring work areas and calculating the quantities of materials required for each project. Erecting and dismantling ladders, scaffolding and other access equipment safely. Protecting surrounding surfaces and maintaining a clean, safe and organised worksite in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements.
Inspecting completed work to ensure a high-quality finish that meets client specifications and company standards. Maintaining painting tools, equipment and materials in good working order. Qualification & experience Minimum 3 years of relevant full-time painting experience .
Certificate III in Painting and Decorating or an equivalent qualification is preferred. Strong knowledge of painting techniques, products and workplace safety practices. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
