This is a permanent part-time (0.4 FTE) position commencing Term 3, 2026. Established in 1962 and nestled at the base of the Harvey Hills, in a community which consists of agricultural and industrial businesses, Harvey Senior High School has been serving and educating our community for over 60 years. The Role
The Cleaner in Charge is responsible for overseeing the opening and closing of the school and performing various internal and external cleaning duties.
- maintaining carpets and hard floor surfaces
- cleaning toilets, furniture, and fittings
- dusting
- window cleaning
- rubbish removal
- other general cleaning tasks
- cleaning verandas, covered areas, and drinking troughs
- removing cobwebs
- performing general upkeep of the grounds
- vacation cleaning tasks such as stripping and sealing vinyl floors, shampooing carpets, pressure cleaning verandas and undercover areas, and other related duties
- oversee and manage staff, ensuring optimal performance in consultation with the Manager of Corporate Services
- maintain the cleaner’s time book,
arrange for relief staff when necessary, monitor and order cleaning supplies, conduct regular stocktakes and manage equipment maintenance and replacement
This is a Split Shift position with hours worked 5am-9am and 1.30pm-5.30pm.

Eligibility
- obtain a valid Working With Children Check
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start
- be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment
