Senior Transloading Operator – Rochester, NY

Starting pay for this position: $25.00/hour

What you’ll do:

- Independently operate transloading equipment (multiple types of equipment and manage all commodities).
- Monitor and control the flow of materials during transloading to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Inspect equipment and connections for leaks, wear, or damage.
- Troubleshoot minor equipment issues.
- Capable of performing Railcar Inspections.
- Ability/willingness to cross train in other forms of transloading.
- Follow safety protocols and environmental regulations during all operations.
- Maintain accurate records of materials handled, quantities, and transfer times.
- Effectively communicate with drivers and other team members to coordinate logistics.
- Pre and post inspection of equipment and necessary documentation.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of transloading equipment and work areas.
- Assist with basic loading/unloading tasks under supervision, initially assisting, but in time conducting loads on their own.
- Learn about safety protocols and equipment operation.
- Perform manual labor such as connecting hoses, cleaning, and staging materials.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Ability to work Monday – Friday 6 am – 4:30 pm. Some overtime and weekends may be required.

What you’ll need:

- 5 years of experience in transloading or industrial operations. Proficient in all forms of transloading.
- Advanced equipment operation and troubleshooting.
- Experience with forklifts, pumps, hoses, valves, and other industrial equipment.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures,



especially in hazardous material handling.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions (snow, rain, cold, and heat at rail yards, ports or industrial facilities) and perform physical labor.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Valid Drivers License Required.
- Time management.
- Ability to read gauges, follow SOPs, and maintain logs.
- Basic troubleshooting of equipment.
- Basic computer or tablet skills for logging data and reports.
- Train new employees.
- Effectively communicate with clients, and management.
- Forklift certification.
- HAZMAT training.
- OSHA safety training.
- May involve shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Requires wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).
