Senior Associate Lawyer – High Growth Career Path

The Role
As a Senior Associate, you will manage a broad range of litigation and commercial legal matters from commencement through to resolution.
You will work closely with Partners and senior lawyers, provide strategic advice to clients, appear in court and dispute resolution forums where required, and contribute to the development of junior team members within the practice.
This role is suited to someone who is commercially minded, confident managing matters independently, and motivated by the opportunity to grow into a leadership role within the firm.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Manage a diverse portfolio of litigation and dispute resolution matters from commencement to final resolution.
- Provide practical and commercially focused legal advice to clients across a range of industries.
- Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents, including pleadings, affidavits, contracts, court documents, correspondence, and submissions.
- Conduct legal research and prepare written advice on complex legal issues.
- Appear in court hearings, mediations, arbitrations, negotiations, and settlement conferences where appropriate.
- Develop litigation strategies and advise clients on risk, prospects, and dispute resolution options.
- Liaise with clients, counsel, courts, government agencies, regulators, and other stakeholders.
- Manage competing priorities while ensuring compliance with court rules, legislative requirements, and internal deadlines.
- Mentor and supervise junior lawyers, graduates, and support staff.
- Contribute to business development by strengthening client relationships and identifying new opportunities.
- Assist Partners with complex legal matters and strategic client advisory work.
- Help improve internal processes, precedents, systems, and best practices.
About You
The ideal candidate will be:
- Admitted to practice in Australia with 5+ years Post Admission Experience.
- Experienced in litigation,
dispute resolution, commercial law, or a combination of related practice areas.
- Confident managing legal matters independently with minimal supervision.
- A strong legal drafter with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Commercially minded, analytical, and practical in approach.
- Experienced in managing client relationships and providing clear, strategic advice.
- Comfortable appearing in court, mediations, negotiations, and settlement conferences where required.
- Highly organised and able to manage multiple complex matters and deadlines.
- A proactive mentor who enjoys supporting the development of junior lawyers.
- Professional, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering excellent client outcomes.
