The merger will also strengthen our workforce, providing new training, education and career opportunities. from 1 January 2026, all employees from the five health services have now transferred to Bayside Health.

About the Role The CSSD Instrument Technician is responsible for the safe, efficient and compliant reprocessing of reusable medical devices (RMD’s) to support perioperative and clinical services at Leongatha Memorial Hospital.

The role ensures all cleaning, disinfection, inspection, packaging, sterilisation, storage and distribution processes are performed in accordance with AS:5369 standards, infection prevention and control standards and National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards.

The CSSD Instrument Technician plays a key role in maintaining quality assurance systems, accurate documentation, and equipment monitoring to ensure compliance and patient safety. The position also contributes to continuous quality improvement activities,



supports stock control and equipment maintenance, and assists in the training and supervision of recent staff.

The role requires strong technical capability, attention to detail, effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.

Mandatory Requirements

· Entitlement to work within Australia

· A Police Check that is current and within 12 months of the issue date

· Certificate III-IV in Sterilisation Services

· Certificate III in Health Service Operating Theatre Support or equivalent

· Minimum 12 months experience working within a CSSD environment

· Demonstrate knowledge of sterilisation procedures and standards

· Strong attention to detail and organisational skills

· Understanding of AS 5369 and infection prevention principles

· Effective communication and teamwork skills

· Ability to work flexibly within a dynamic healthcare environment

· Seasonal influenza vaccination of healthcare workers in accordance with Secretary, Department of Health Directions

· Previous Experience in Theatre required
