Role Location: Wurrumiyanga, Bathurst Island, Tiwi Island NT The Organisation The Tiwi Islands Training and Employment Board (TITEB) is a Tiwi governed, not for profit organisation established to deliver employment, training and education outcomes for the Tiwi Islands communities. Since its establishment by the Tiwi Land Council, TITEB has played a central role in building local workforce capacity and creating pathways into meaningful and sustainable employment. TITEB is the primary provider of employment, training and allied education services across the Tiwi Islands, delivering a range of integrated programs including Group Training (GTO), Registered Training (RTO), Remote Australia Employment Services (RAES) and Tiwi School Support Services (TSSS). These programs are designed to support individuals at all stages of their journey, from school engagement through to vocational training, apprenticeships and long-term employment.

With a strong focus on community led outcomes, TITEB works closely with local employers, training organisations and community stakeholders to ensure services are culturally appropriate, practical and aligned to the needs of the Tiwi people. The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and community-focused Trainer & Assessor to deliver accredited training in Community Services, Workplace Skills and other vocational programs that support employment and educational outcomes for learners across the Tiwi Islands community.



The role will primarily focus on Community Services delivery, while also supporting Workplace Skills training and Sport & Recreation programs delivered in partnership with local schools and stakeholders.

This role is ideal for a motivated and confident Trainer & Assessor who thrives working independently, takes initiative and enjoys building strong community connections while delivering high-quality training outcomes.

Working closely with the RTO Manager, fellow trainers and community partners, you'll deliver engaging training and assessment, support learner success and contribute to the ongoing growth and improvement of training programs within Wurrumiyanga. This is a well-supported position with established classes already operating and a strong team environment to help you succeed. Based in Wurrumiyanga, the role follows a 35-hour work week, with training delivery generally occurring Monday to Thursday and Fridays dedicated to planning, administration and resource development.

Key responsibilities include:

- Delivering accredited training and assessment in accordance with current RTO Standards and training package requirements.
- Facilitating Community Services, Workplace Skills and other vocational training programs.
- Supporting learners to develop practical skills, confidence and pathways into employment or further study.
- Monitoring learner attendance, engagement, progression and completion outcomes.
- Developing and improving learning resources, assessment tools and training materials.
- Using Microsoft Office, Canva and AI platforms to create engaging and culturally appropriate training resources.
- Maintaining accurate training records, assessment documentation and compliance requirements.
- Providing mentoring, guidance and individualised support to learners.
- Participating in validation, quality assurance and continuous improvement activities.




- Building strong relationships with schools, community stakeholders and employment partners to support training outcomes.
- Supporting the delivery of school-based vocational programs, including Sport & Recreation initiatives as required.
- Promoting training opportunities and contributing to positive community engagement across Wurrumiyanga.

About You

You’ll bring…

- TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent), or a higher-level qualification in adult education, or currently enrolled and actively working towards completion.
- Relevant industry qualifications and/or experience in Community Services, Workplace Skills, Youth Work, Human Services, Employment Services, Education or related fields.
- Demonstrated experience delivering vocational education and training, workplace programs or adult learning initiatives.
- Strong skills in developing learning resources, assessment tools and training materials.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office, Canva and AI-powered tools to create engaging learning content.
- An understanding of learner support strategies, including working with diverse learning needs.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A collaborative approach and ability to work within a small, supportive team.
- A current driver's licence (manual licence highly regarded).
- Experience working in remote communities and/or with First Nations learners will be highly regarded.
- Current driver's license.
