About Us

When people talk about the Flying Doctor, thoughts generally turn to red-bellied planes undertaking rescue missions in the Outback. However, the current Victorian story is one that reflects today's challenges for people living in remote and rural communities across the state. While we do still transport people by air and by road, this work is complemented by a range of primary health services that address the most common issues people living in country Victoria face when accessing health care.

About the role

As a Vehicle Logistics and Site Specialist, you will play a key hands-on role in transporting, setting up, and operating our Aeromedical Flight Simulator and other event assets at schools, community events, regional tours, and public activations. This is a casual position, ideal for someone who enjoys versatile work, weekend events, and the chance to travel to regional Victorian communities. You will collaborate closely with our Events and Engagement team, presenters, volunteers, and community partners to create memorable, meaningful, and educational experiences that leave a lasting impact.

This role offers a unique blend of hands-on activity, public interaction, and logistical coordination within a supportive and purpose-driven environment.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

- Implement the safe installation of physical assets at events and activations
- Tow, transport and implement safe operations of key assets such as the Aeromedical Flight Simulator
- Follow event plans, schedules, and rosters to ensure smooth delivery
- Implement events and activations, managing public, queues and customer flow through activations




- Liaise and coordinate with event suppliers and community event stakeholders to ensure smooth activation of RFDS engagements.
- Coordinate and communicate innovatively within the events and engagement team to drive optimal
- Assist in post-engagement evaluations, including compiling feedback, metrics, and any follow-up
- Provide support to event and educational presenters as part of the broader Events and Engagement team

To be successful, you will need:

Essential:

- Minimum 2-3 years relevant experience working in community engagement, touring/live performance, events (site/production), event management, vehicle operations, or a relevant
- Be available throughout the week and weekend, with ability to work early mornings and extended periods of time.
- Ability to occasionally stay overnight or take part in regional tours
- Proven ability to tow and maneuver a vehicle with a large trailer in a commercial Certified towing course highly valued.
- Experience in long distance driving in regional
- Proven experience in a public facing
- Current Working With Children Check (WWCC)

Desirable:

- Experience in project/events management software such as Microsoft
- Experience with AV and LX systems and
- Practical skills: mechanical, metal/wood work, electrical, artistic/look and feel, videography/photography.
