City of Sydney

About Us

Abergeldie is a majority locally owned contractor with 30 years of industry experience in Australia and New Zealand. We design and deliver projects in the Water, Bridges, Transport, Underground, Energy and Remediation industry sectors. Projects include dams, bridges, tunnels, water and wastewater treatment process facilities, rail infrastructure, mining infrastructure, electrical substations, marine works and pipeline rehabilitation: the complex infrastructure needed to build better communities.

About The Project

Join us on the Refresh Vaucluse and Diamond Bay project, delivering lasting environmental perks to one of Sydney’s most stunning coastal areas. We’re partnering with Sydney Water to help create a cleaner harbour and coastline, protect marine life and safeguard community health.

As part of the project, we’re constructing new infrastructure to redirect flows from Sydney’s last three ocean outfalls to the Bondi Water Resource Recovery Facility (WRRF). The project scope includes:

- 1 new pump station in Parsley Bay.
- 1.8km of HDD pipelines.
- Upgrade existing infrastructure such as vent shafts and manholes.

About The Opportunity

We’re on the lookout for an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join our team and play a key role in the successful delivery of this project. Based full time on site, you will work closely with our Project Manager, playing an integral role in managing project and team performance, whilst driving successful project outcomes.

What You’ll Bring To The Team

- The successful applicant must have a Civil or Mechanical Engineering degree.
- Demonstrated experience as a Civil or Mechanical Senior Project Engineer within construction delivery.
- Experience delivering water/wastewater infrastructure projects (Sydney Water project experience will be highly regarded).
- Exposure to Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) works is considered advantageous.
- A proactive approach to problem‑solving and a commitment to safe, quality project delivery.

Why You Should Work With Us

Our people are what make Abergeldie successful, and we make sure that this is the kind of place where great people enjoy working for the long term. We have a range of employee benefits, including the Abergeldie Bonus Scheme, where all eligible employees share in the benefits of the projects they have helped to deliver. When we deliver winning projects, we celebrate success together.
