Based in Wagga Wagga, our team is passionate about innovation, quality manufacturing and delivering practical solutions for the livestock industry. As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced Workshop Team Leader to support our Workshop Foreman and help drive day-to-day workshop performance.
About the Role
This is a hands-on leadership role where you will support the Workshop Foreman in coordinating daily workshop operations. You’ll play a key role in keeping the workshop running smoothly, ensuring jobs are completed safely, on time and to a high standard, while supporting and mentoring tradespeople and apprentices.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day guidance, supervision and support to tradespeople and apprentices
- Assist with training, onboarding and ongoing development of team members
- Act as a key link between the workshop team and the Workshop Foreman
- Promote and enforce safe work practices and PPE compliance
- Identify hazards and proactively manage safety risks on the floor
- Support the coordination and prioritisation of daily workshop activities
- Assist in delivering production targets in line with schedules and job priorities
- Monitor workflow, identify issues early and help keep jobs on track
- Maintain high quality standards across all work and support quality checks
- Step in on the tools as required (approximately 20% of the role) to support workflow, mentor team members and lead by example
- Support basic maintenance and protected operation of workshop equipment
About You
- Trade qualified (fabrication or similar preferred)
- Previous experience in a Team Leader or senior trade role
- Strong fabrication skills and willingness to stay hands-on
- Ability to lead by example and support a positive team environment
- Good communication skills and the ability to coordinate people and workflow
- Strong focus on safety, quality and productivity
- Forklift licence and White Card (or willingness to obtain)
- First Aid Certificate (desirable)
