The Company is in search of a Chief People Officer (CPO) to spearhead the people, culture, and workforce agenda across its extensive network of schools and early learning centers. This pivotal role demands an executive with a robust background in HR, people, and culture, particularly within a values-driven and mission-led workplace. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a multidisciplinary team and will have a direct impact on the entire educational community, including principals, teachers, support staff, students, and families.

Key responsibilities for the CPO include leading enterprise-wide workforce health, safety, and wellbeing initiatives, strengthening recruitment and retention strategies, and supporting leadership and performance frameworks. The role also involves contributing to principal and executive appointments and providing high-level advice on employment, industrial, and workforce matters.



The CPO will work closely with other corporate service leaders to ensure a cohesive and customer-focused approach to supporting the educational system.

To excel in this role, the CPO must have executive leadership experience in HR, people and culture, or workforce strategy, with a proven track record in workforce planning, employee and industrial relations, and organizational change. Outstanding stakeholder engagement and leadership skills are essential, as is a genuine commitment to the mission of Catholic education. The position requires a practicing Catholic with an active connection to a parish or worshiping community, relevant tertiary qualifications, and the ability to obtain necessary accreditations and checks.

The ideal candidate will be adept at driving contemporary people leadership in a complex and purpose-led workplace, and will work closely with the Executive Leadership Team, Board Committees, and senior stakeholders to build workforce capability and service excellence.
