The Optometry Studio is looking for a person to join our team in Wilston, as one of our current student optometrists prepares to graduate! The Optometry Studio is a growing, independently owned practice with a solid reputation for delivering exceptional patient care, particularly in paediatric eye care.

This is a unique chance to work alongside a small team of passionate optometrists and experienced dispensers. You'll gain practical experience across a diverse range of clinical presentations, while also developing valuable dispensing, clinical communication and patient care skills.

About the role
Approximately 15–20 hours per fortnight (with flexibility to suit university commitments where possible).
Expected start date: September/ October 2026.
Weekday shifts and Saturdays (our practice is open every second Saturday only).
Employment under the Health Professionals and Support Services Award (HPSS Award).
No previous experience is necessary - we are happy to train the right candidate, although experience in optometry or a customer service setting will be highly regarded.

What you'll be doing

As a dispenser, you'll become an key part of our clinical team, assisting with a wide variety of tasks including:
Welcoming and checking in patients.




Supporting our dispensing team & patients with frame selection and patient care.
Assisting with the dispensing and fitting of glasses of both adults and children of all ages (including infants under 12 months old).
Preparation and fitting of glasses onsite with our edging equipment.
Administrative and reception duties as required.
Helping deliver an exceptional patient experience from start to finish.

Has excellent communication skills and enjoys working as part of a close-knit team.
Takes pride in providing outstanding patient care.
Has experience in previous customer service roles.
Optometry or healthcare study is looked upon highly.
