About the Business and the Role

Lore’s Kitchen, located in South Melbourne, is seeking a passionate Head Chef with experience in traditional Colombian cuisine to join our successful restaurant that offers the best of Latin hospitality and gastronomic culture.

The restaurant operates 7 days a week, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Requirements
Experience working in Colombia or in Colombian restaurants.
A strong focus on flavour, quality, and consistency.
Passion for food and being reliable, hardworking, and motivated.
A calm and pleasant personality.
Solid attention to detail and plate presentation.




Ability to lead by example and create a motivating team environment.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities
Improve the current menu and create daily specials aligned with the restaurant’s style.
Manage kitchen staff, including training and team development.
Control budgets and manage food and labour costs.
Maintain high food safety and hygiene standards.
Oversee maintenance of kitchen equipment.
Work with management to increase revenue and improve the business.

Skills and Experience

You must:
Have experience leading a successful kitchen.
Have at least 2 years of full time experience as a Head Chef in a traditional Colombian-style restaurant.
Hold a culinary diploma or internationally equivalent qualification.
Be willing to work weekends and evenings.
Have experience working in Colombia or with Colombian cuisine.
Able to speak spanish fluently.
