Coppersmith Hotel is looking for an ambitious, entrepreneurial chef to join our kitchen team.

We're a gastro pub and boutique hotel in South Melbourne, known for quality food, great service, and a welcoming local atmosphere. We're looking for someone who wants more than just another kitchen job - someone with energy, initiative, and a passion for creating great food while helping shape the future of our venue.

This is a hands-on leadership role for a chef who enjoys running a smooth service, mentoring a team, and bringing fresh ideas to the table.

What you'll be doing:
Leading kitchen service and daily operations
Preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality dishes
Managing prep, stock control, and ordering
Maintaining exceptional food safety and hygiene standards
Training and developing junior kitchen team members
Contributing creative ideas for menus, specials, and seasonal offerings
Helping drive the continued growth and success of the kitchen

What we're looking for:




An ambitious chef with an entrepreneurial mindset and a genuine passion for hospitality
Previous experience as a Cook, Chef, or in a similar leadership role
Strong all-round cooking skills across lunch and dinner service
Confidence leading a team in a fast-paced kitchen
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Knowledge of food safety and HACCP requirements
Someone who takes ownership, thrives on responsibility, and enjoys building something great
