Job Overview
We’re seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join our team on an 18-month fixed-term contract at our Sydney Head office in Barangaroo. The role reports to the Finance Manager - Financial Control and involves preparing statutory financial reports and ASX compliance reporting. The position offers a hybrid work pattern: 3 days in-office and 2 days remote.
Key Responsibilities
Manage monthly general ledger reconciliations, including transactions, journals, and maintaining key balance sheet accounts.
Maintain integrity of key balance sheet control accounts, including bank clearing accounts.
Provide timely financial reporting and analysis support to the Financial and Commercial Accounting Teams.
Support the preparation of local statutory financial statements.
Drive process and system improvements for enhanced financial reporting.
Perform intercompany reconciliations and group consolidations.
Support the Financial Accounting Manager and Financial Controller.
Serve as a point of contact for key finance matters and technical accounting issues.
Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will be a qualified Accountant with experience in business partnering within a large organization. Essential skills include:
Experience with ASX/ASIC reporting requirements.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Robust project management and prioritization skills.
Self-motivated, responsible, and proactive.
Knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems is highly desirable.
