Role Details

This role is primarily Monday to Friday (day shift) within a multidisciplinary healthcare team. After‑hours, weekend and on‑call shifts may be required depending on role requirements and base location.

What you’ll do
Deliver high‑quality mental health care to Defence members
Conduct fitness‑for‑duty assessments and pre/post‑deployment care
Undertake assessments, interventions, manage medications, formulate treatment and care plans for individuals and group education sessions
Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary clinical setting where patient wellness is paramount

What you bring




Unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
One of the following:
ACMHN credentialed
Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing
Mental Health trained nurse / UK trained undergraduate Mental Health Nurse
Minimum two years’ post‑RN general registration experience within the last five years in mental health within a Primary Healthcare Setting or Specialist Mental Health Setting
Comprehensive assessment skills and experience in ‘Focussed Psychological Strategies’ and ‘Psychological Therapy’ as per Medicare Schedule
Current CPR certification (HLTAID009)
Australian Citizenship required to obtain Baseline Security Clearance
Commitment to CPD and ethical, patient‑centred care
