Workforce Extensions is currently seeking an experienced Metal Worker to join a busy Building & Construction team based in Port Kembla, NSW.
Working across a variety of commercial construction sites, you'll commence each day from the Port Kembla depot before travelling to site with the team. This role offers full-time hours, ongoing work and the opportunity to secure permanent employment following a successful 3-month casual trial.
About the Role
Reporting to the Site Supervisor, you will be responsible for a range of structural and construction metalwork duties, including:
Structural steel installation and fabrication
Welding and in office metal repairs
Reading and interpreting construction drawings
Measuring, cutting and assembling steel components
Installing handrails, balustrades and other fabricated items
Using a variety of power and hand tools safely
Maintaining a clean and secure work environment
Working collaboratively to meet project deadlines
About You
To be successful,
you will have:
Previous experience as a Metal Worker, Steel Fabricator or Boilermaker within the Building & Construction industry
Experience with MIG welding and general fabrication
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
White Card (Construction Induction Card)
Current Driver Licence and Vehicle
Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
Excellent work ethic and reliability
