A busy and growing transport company based in Welshpool is seeking an experienced Workshop Supervisor to lead our maintenance operations for a large fleet of trailers and dollies.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring robust mechanical and electrical knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage workshop staff while ensuring fleet servicing and repairs are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities
Supervise and lead a team of 3 workshop staff.
Plan, schedule, and coordinate all servicing and repairs across the fleet.
Conduct diagnostics, fault finding, servicing, and repairs on trailers and dollies.
Manage brake, suspension, hydraulic, and electrical system maintenance.
Ensure all maintenance work is completed to a high standard and within required timeframes.
Maintain workshop safety standards and ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
Order parts, consumables, and workshop supplies as required.
Manage workshop inventory and maintain accurate stock control procedures.
Liaise with suppliers to source parts and achieve cost-effective purchasing outcomes.
Maintain service records and compliance documentation.




Minimize fleet downtime through effective planning and preventative maintenance.

Essential Requirements
Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar Workshop Supervisor, Leading Hand, or Fleet Maintenance role.
Sound mechanical and electrical knowledge of trailers and dollies.
Proven experience within the transport, trailer, or heavy vehicle industry.
Strong leadership and people management skills.
Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
Demonstrated experience planning and coordinating fleet maintenance and repairs.
Robust diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
Sound computer skills, including the ability to manage maintenance records, compliance documentation, stock ordering, and inventory control.
Robust parts procurement and stock management experience.
Commitment to workplace safety, compliance, and quality workmanship.
Ability to work proactively with team members and other departments to achieve operational objectives.
Current Australian Driver's License.

Desirable (But Not Essential)
Experience using Gearbox Fleet Management Software or similar maintenance management systems.
Heavy vehicle or trailer maintenance qualifications.
Forklift license.
