About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Part-Time Cook/Chef to join our kitchen team.

This position offers approximately 20 hours per week, with evening shifts from 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm, five days per week with flexible roster. Additional hours may be available during busy periods, functions, and public holidays.

You will be responsible for preparing high-quality Indian dishes while maintaining excellent food safety and hygiene standards.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook authentic Indian dishes to a consistently high standard.
Prepare and cook tandoori items including naan breads, kebabs, and marinated meats using a traditional tandoor.
Assist with food preparation and mise en place before service.
Maintain high standards of presentation and portion control.
Follow HACCP food safety procedures and maintain a clean, organised kitchen.
Monitor stock rotation, minimise food waste, and ensure proper storage of ingredients.
Work efficiently during busy service periods while maintaining quality.
Assist with cleaning and closing duties at the end of each shift.

Essential Skills & Experience
Previous experience as a Cook or Chef in an Indian restaurant.




Sound knowledge of authentic Indian cooking techniques and spices.
Experience operating a tandoor oven.
Valuable understanding of HACCP principles and food safety regulations.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently and within a team.
Full Australian working rights.

Desirable
Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery.
Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
Experience with stock control and ordering.
