Role Description The Support Coordinator is a CASUAL (HYDRID) role based in Canberra. This position involves working closely with NDIS participants to understand their goals, develop support plans, and coordinate services that meet their individual needs. Day-to-day tasks include managing participant caseloads, organizing and attending meetings, liaising with service providers, and monitoring the effectiveness of supports.
The Support
Coordinator will assist participants with navigating the NDIS, resolving issues, and providing transparent communication about available options and resources. The role also includes maintaining accurate records, preparing reports,
and ensuring services align with NDIS guidelines and Care Carriage’s commitment to quality and person-centered care.
Qualifications
Robust interpersonal skills to build trusting, respectful relationships with participants, families, and service providers.
Excellent communication skills, including clear verbal communication, skilled writing, and active listening.
Experience in case management, including assessment, planning, coordination, and review of participant supports.
Customer service skills to respond promptly to participant inquiries, manage expectations, and provide supportive guidance.
Technical support capabilities to use NDIS and internal systems, maintain digital records, and navigate online portals.
Relevant experience in disability support, community services, social work, or a related field.
Knowledge of the NDIS framework, participant rights, and person-centered practice is highly desirable.
Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and make sound, ethical decisions.
Certificate or degree in community services, social work, psychology, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
Current driver’s license and ability to travel locally within Canberra as required.
