We are Mansys, the Recruitment Consultants. Our client, BasWal Finest Produce is seeking a skilled and reliable Nurseryperson to join their horticulture operations in NSW. The successful applicant will be responsible for propagating, cultivating and maintaining plants within our nursery setting, supporting healthy plant growth and production quality.

Key Duties

The successful applicant will be required to:
Prepare potting media, soil mixtures, containers and nursery beds before planting.
Select seeds, bulbs, seedlings and cuttings for propagation and planting.
Plant, propagate, cultivate and maintain nursery stock.
Perform budding, grafting and other plant propagation techniques where required.
Water plants manually and operate irrigation or automatic watering systems.
Monitor plant health and identify pests, diseases, weeds and nutritional or environmental disorders.
Apply appropriate treatments, fertilisers and pest control measures in accordance with workplace procedures and safety requirements.




Maintain accurate records of plantings, soil mixtures, treatments, losses, growth progress and yields.
Select, prepare and package plants for presentation, movement or delivery.
Maintain nursery areas, equipment and tools in a clean, secure and organised condition.
Follow workplace health and safety, biosecurity and quality control procedures.

Skills and Experience Required

Applicants must have:
AQF Certificate III or AQF Certificate IV in horticulture, nursery production or a related field;
At least three years of relevant nursery or plant propagation experience as a substitute for formal qualifications.
Practical experience in plant propagation, nursery maintenance, irrigation and plant health monitoring.
Ability to work outdoors and perform physical tasks in a nursery/farm environment.
Good attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Understanding of workplace health and safety procedures.
