Are you an experienced Cloud Infrastructure Engineer looking to combine hands‑on technical work with team leadership? We’re seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineering Lead to join a high‑performing Federal Government technology team responsible for delivering secure, scalable cloud platforms that support critical digital services. This is an exciting prospect to lead cloud engineering initiatives across AWS and Microsoft Azure, driving automation, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and platform modernisation while mentoring a team of talented engineers.

What You’ll Be Doing
Lead a small team delivering secure AWS and Azure cloud infrastructure
Design, build, and support enterprise cloud platforms using Infrastructure as Code
Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines with embedded security and compliance
Troubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure issues and provide technical leadership
Produce architecture documentation, technical standards, and operational procedures
Drive continuous improvement across cloud engineering practices and platform reliability




Mentor engineers and collaborate with technical and business stakeholders

What We’re Looking For
5+ years’ experience in Cloud Infrastructure Engineering or a similar role
Solid hands‑on experience with AWS and Microsoft Azure
Experience with Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, Azure DevOps, or GitOps
Knowledge of cloud security, governance, and compliance best practices
Proven leadership experience with the ability to mentor and develop technical teams
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Highly Desirable
Cloud cost optimisation (FinOps) experience
Experience within the Australian Federal Government or other regulated environments

Eligibility
Australian Citizenship is essential
Canberra-based role
