Canberra Surgicentre is a specialist Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery practice located in Braddon, ACT. We are seeking a motivated and experienced Dental Assistant with a Certificate IV in Dental Assisting to join our friendly and professional team on a full-time basis.
This is a diverse hybrid role offering a combination of clinical assisting, sterilisation, radiography, and front desk administration. You will work alongside our specialist surgeons in a fast-paced and supportive environment.
Working Hours
Full-time position with consideration for part time
Monday to Friday
Rostered shifts between 7:30 am and 7:00 pm
Key Responsibilities
Assist Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons with dental extractions and oral surgery procedures under local anaesthetic.
Prepare treatment rooms and maintain a safe, productive clinical environment.
Clean, sterilise, and maintain surgical instruments in accordance with infection control standards.
Take OPG (panoramic) X-rays.
Download and manage various CBCT scan files.
Provide front desk reception support, including patient bookings, answering telephone enquiries, and administrative tasks.
Deliver exceptional patient care and support throughout the patient journey.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Certificate IV in Dental Assisting.
Current experience as a Dental Assistant.
Experience taking OPG X-rays.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
A skilled, compassionate, and patient-focused approach.
