The Hospitality and Environmental Services Coordinator is responsible for the operational leadership and coordination of hospitality, environmental cleaning, patient support services, and food services within the hospital.
The role provides day-to-day supervision of cleaning and hospitality staff, ensuring the hospital environment is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, infection prevention and control, patient comfort, safety, and service excellence.
The Coordinator is responsible for ensuring compliance with hospital policies, accreditation standards, infection prevention requirements, workplace health and safety legislation, food safety legislation, and relevant Australian Standards. The position acts as the primary point of contact for environmental services operations and works collaboratively with clinical and non-clinical departments to maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming healthcare setting.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA:
Essential
• Previous experience supervising environmental services, cleaning or hospitality teams within a healthcare environment.
• Demonstrated leadership and people management skills.
• Knowledge of infection prevention and control principles.
• Understanding of healthcare cleaning requirements and environmental hygiene standards.
• Solid organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to effectively manage competing priorities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Computer literacy and experience maintaining records and reports.
• Current Food Safety Certificate.
• Current National Police Check.
Desirable
• Experience within a private hospital environment.
• Certificate IV in Leadership and Management or equivalent.
• Experience participating in healthcare accreditation processes.
• Knowledge of NSQHS Standards.
• Experience conducting environmental cleaning audits and quality improvement activities.
