Enemix are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior/Lead/Principal Protection Engineer to join our client that operates within the T&D; and Renewable sectors. This role focuses on the design, implementation, and maintenance of protection systems for electrical substations and transmission-level utility projects. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in electrical engineering, a strong understanding of utility systems, and a commitment to ensuring the reliability and safety of power transmission infrastructure.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and implement protection systems for electrical substations and high-voltage transmission networks.
Conduct system studies, fault analysis, and relay coordination to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, design engineers, and field technicians, to deliver utility projects on time and within scope.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices in the design and operation of protection systems.
Prepare technical documentation, including protection settings, schematics, and reports.
Provide technical support and training to internal teams and external stakeholders as needed.
Stay updated on advancements in protection technologies and integrate creative solutions into projects.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Proven experience in protection engineering, particularly in electrical substations and transmission-level systems.
Strong knowledge of protection relays, control systems, and fault analysis.
Familiarity with utility projects and industry standards such as IEEE, IEC, and NERC.
Proficiency in using engineering software and tools for system modeling and analysis.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Solid communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team setting.
