Mechanical Tradesperson

Position Summary HITEC Electrical Contracting is seeking experienced Mechanical Tradespersons to join our growing team, delivering construction, installation and maintenance projects across the rail, transport and industrial sectors. Working alongside our electrical and communications teams, you will be responsible for the mechanical assembly, installation, maintenance and commissioning of infrastructure and equipment while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and workmanship.

Key Responsibilities
Perform the mechanical assembly and installation of equipment, infrastructure and associated components.
Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance on mechanical assets.
Install and maintain cable management systems and associated hardware.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, installation plans and technical documentation.
Assist with equipment positioning, alignment and mechanical commissioning.
Inspect equipment, identify defects and carry out repairs or component replacement where required.
Work collaboratively with electrical and communications personnel to deliver integrated project outcomes.




Complete quality assurance documentation, maintenance records and inspection reports.
Comply with company procedures, client requirements and all WHS legislation.

Essential Requirements
Relevant mechanical trade qualification or demonstrated experience in mechanical assembly and maintenance.
Current Construction White Card.
Current Australian Driver Licence.
Robust commitment to workplace health and safety.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
Robust mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable Qualifications
Rail Industry Worker (RIW) Card.
Elevated Work Platform (EWP) Licence.
Working at Heights.
Confined Space.
Dogging or Rigging qualifications.
Experience within rail, transport or industrial projects.
