Role Description The Junior Accountant role is a full time, on-site position based in Sydney, NSW. The successful candidate will assist with day-to-day accounting tasks, including processing invoices, maintaining ledgers, preparing journal entries, and reconciling accounts. The role involves supporting the preparation of financial statements, assisting with tax returns and compliance documentation, and helping with basic audit work under supervision.

Accountant will collaborate with senior team members to gather client information, respond to client queries, and ensure accurate and timely reporting.



This position offers exposure to a variety of small and medium-sized business clients and opportunities to develop a strong foundation in accounting, taxation, and audit.

Qualifications

Foundational knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and basic financial statement preparation.

Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel), with the ability to learn new systems quickly.

Robust analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.

Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team and interact professionally with clients.

Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a busy advisory and compliance setting.

Relevant tertiary qualification or progress toward a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

Interest in taxation and audit, with willingness to develop skills in these areas and undertake further professional training or certification.

Ethical, reliable, and motivated to build a career in public practice serving small and medium-sized business clients.
