Disability Connect Victoria is seeking compassionate and reliable casual Disability Support Workers to join our team in Heathmont.
About the Role
As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide person-centred support to assist participants with:
Personal care and daily living activities
Catheter care
Bowel management
Protected manual handling
Community access
Behaviours of concern
Following individual support plans and NDIS goals
Maintaining professional boundaries
Completing accurate documentation and progress notes
Available Hours
Applicants must be available for some of the following shifts:
Monday to Thursday: 7:00 am to 11:00 am
Saturday and Sunday: 4:00 pm to 11:00 pm
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
Certificate III in Individual Support or a higher relevant qualification
At least 12 months’ experience in a similar disability support role
Experience providing personal care
Experience with catheter care and bowel management
Experience supporting people with behaviours of concern
Knowledge of protected manual handling practices
A current NDIS Worker Screening Check
A current employee Working with Children Check
A valid Australian driver licence
Access to a registered and comprehensively insured vehicle
Due to the participant’s transport and accessibility needs, the vehicle must be lower to the ground and suitable for secure entry and exit. SUVs and four-wheel-drive vehicles are not suitable for this placement.
