Our garden centre is growing! We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated nursery person for our retail plant nursery.

Criteria:
Minimum 3 years retail nursery experience
Certificate III in Horticulture, higher or equivalent qualification
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Understanding of organic and non-organic gardening methods
Understanding of Northern Rivers climatic and regional growing conditions for gardeners, landscapers and farmers.
Excellent attention to detail, plant diagnostic and observation skills
Efficient time management and prioritisation skills
Positive attitude and solid work ethic
Positive physical fitness for moving large plants and pots
Availability 25 hours per week including regular weekend shifts

The Role:
Serving customers with a confident familiarity of the needs, tolerances and attributes of local productive, functional and ornamental plant varieties
Horticultural maintenance, nutritional health and pest control of nursery plants for sale and in display gardens




Making plant suggestions for customers to guide the optimal development of their gardens according to their needs and style preferences
Merchandising stock for optimal visual effect and sales
Receiving, processing and putting out stock
A nursery based role, supporting the broader garden centre and landscape yard where necessary
