About the Role
Our client is a NSW government organisation based in the Sydney CBD. They are seeking a Finance Manager to join their team on a 6‑month temporary contract with potential for extension.
Responsibilities
Prepare statutory financial statements and workpapers for NSW Treasury.
Manage accruals, prepayments and month‑end activities to support budgeting and financial decision‑making.
Lead accounting projects and systems development to improve operational efficiency.
Oversee asset registry maintenance and cash flow management to ensure fund liquidity.
Identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies to meet audit and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Finance; CA/CPA desirable.
Previous experience as a Finance Manager or Senior Financial Accountant.
Proven leadership experience across financial accounting functions.
Solid proficiency with accounting systems.
Previous government experience (highly desirable).
