Geo-Environmental Consultant / Geotechnical Engineer / Civil Engineer / Design Manager

Opportunity to join one of the UK's most successful building & civils main contractors.

(Assistant or Intermediate or Seniors considered)

Responsibilities
As part of a growing in-house geotechnical team, provide support on geotechnical problems and Earthworks.
Liaise with external design consultants and provide advice to site teams; where applicable provide value engineering solutions.
Note this is not a hands-on designer role, but a design management role.
Consider applications from geotechnical design engineers or geo-environmental consultants wanting to transfer experience to the main contractor side, or someone already employed by a main contractor; alternatively a Design Manager from a piling subcontractor or similar.

My client is a leading building & civil engineering main contractor, with a busy and quick-growing workload. This employer is looking to strengthen their team with a Geotechnical Advisor / Manager to work on a range of Building & Civils sector projects.

Requirements




Knowledge of Building and/or Civil Engineering sector.
Previous employment as a Geotechnical Engineer or Civil Engineer.
Solid background in Foundation Design/Geotechnics.
Ideally previous main contractor employment but not essential; candidates from design engineering consultancy or subcontractor backgrounds will also be considered.
Relevant industry qualification (Degree / HND / HNC etc).

Location

The role will be a mix of remote working (2–3 days) and site visits (nationwide travel required). Occasional travel to HQ in Northamptonshire (circa once every two weeks). Midlands-based candidates would be ideal, but adaptable to consider other nationwide locations with travel availability.

Remuneration

The successful Geotechnical Design Manager will receive:
£35,000 – £55,000 basic (dependent on experience)
Car allowance
Pension (very competitive)
Bonus
