About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and safety-focused Service Locator & Potholer to join our growing team. This hands-on role involves locating underground utilities, performing non-destructive excavation (NDD) and potholing works, and supporting civil and construction projects to ensure protected excavation practices.
Key Responsibilities
Locate and identify underground services including water, gas, electricity, telecommunications, and sewer infrastructure.
Conduct potholing and vacuum excavation activities using hydro excavation equipment.
Read and interpret utility plans, drawings, and service maps.
Mark out underground services accurately and in accordance with industry standards.
Prepare service location reports and site documentation.
Perform daily vehicle and equipment inspections.
Maintain a strong commitment to workplace health and safety procedures.
Liaise professionally with clients, contractors, and site personnel.
Skills & Experience
Previous experience in service locating, utility locating, potholing, vacuum excavation, or civil construction preferred.
Knowledge of underground utility networks and asset identification.
Ability to read and interpret construction plans and utility drawings.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Positive communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
White Card (essential).
Current driver's licence (essential).
MR/HR licence and relevant industry certifications highly regarded.
