As the Category Specialist - Projects, you will manage procurement and category activities that support a portfolio of capital and operational projects. Working closely with project teams and internal stakeholders, you will help develop sourcing strategies, manage supplier engagement, and ensure procurement outcomes align with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Support the delivery of SPA capital works program (minor capital, maintenance projects and major capital).
Support projects team to maintain project controls (cost, quality, schedule) reporting on individual projects and on a portfolio level.
Engage with internal stakeholders to understand project requirements and procurement needs.
Develop and engineer “fit for purpose” contracts for scopes of work provided.
Monitor supplier performance and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure procurement activities align with relevant policies, governance requirements, and best practice principles.
Lead the development and delivery of sourcing and category plans to achieve stakeholder requirements addressing ESG, supply security and social licence imperatives.
Utilise procurement systems (FELIX Vendor Management & ERP for P2P).
About You
Experience in category management, procurement, contracts, or strategic sourcing.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
Current minimum C Class drivers’ license.
Experience in using ERP systems and Procure to Pay (P2P) business process.
Well-developed analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving capabilities.
Experience in analysis and due diligence of commercial proposals.
Experience within construction, infrastructure, government, health, civil, or related industries will be highly regarded.
