We have been established for over 30 years with branches based in Kelmscott, Canning Vale, Balcatta, Redcliffe, Mandurah, Rockingham, Lake Joondalup, Cockburn, Kalamunda and Malaga.
We are currently seeking a casual Mortuary Assistant to work alongside our Mortuary Team Leader. The ideal candidate will have the ability to be flexible in their approach to the hours worked.
To qualify for this role, you will need to be a dedicated team player with a strong attention to detail, possess a positive work ethic and have effective communication skills. The Funeral Industry falls under the Department of Health therefore, being fully vaccinated against Covid-19 is mandatory.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
To assist the Mortuary Team Leader as required;
To wash and dress the deceased and look after them whilst they are in our care;
To ensure the mortuary is fully cleaned at the end of the working day, following all health and safety regulations;
To ensure all coffins are prepared and completed within a timely manner;
To ensure all chemicals are labelled and stored securely.
Key Skills Required
Good planning and organisational skills;
Excellent attention to detail and a thorough approach to work;
Competent computer skills with a willingness to learn new systems;
Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently;
Must be able to work under pressure and to deadlines;
Must be computer literate with the ability to learn current systems and processes;
Must be physically fit and in valuable health in order to meet the demands of the role;
Ability and willingness to learn.
Prior experience not required however a keen interest in anatomy and human biology essential.
