Role Description

This part‑time, on‑site Electrician role is based in Byron Bay, NSW. The Electrician will install, wire, and connect solar and related electrical systems in homes and small enterprises, ensuring protected and compliant operation. Daily tasks include performing electrical inspections, troubleshooting system issues, carrying out maintenance and repairs, and testing equipment for performance and safety. The role also involves reading and interpreting electrical diagrams, collaborating with installation teams, and communicating clearly with customers about system use and basic maintenance.



The Electrician will follow all relevant electrical and safety standards while supporting FirstSunSolar’s commitment to high‑quality renewable energy solutions.

Qualifications
Solid foundation in core electrical principles, including electricity and basic electrical work.
Experience with maintenance & repair and troubleshooting of residential or small commercial electrical systems.
Knowledge of electrical engineering concepts relevant to solar installations and system design.
Relevant electrician trade qualification, license, or certification recognized in NSW.
Familiarity with solar PV systems, inverters, and associated safety standards (or willingness to learn).
Ability to read wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and installation plans accurately.
Commitment to safe work practices, including use of PPE and adherence to electrical codes and regulations.
Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with customers and onsite teams.
Physical ability to perform on‑site work, including working at heights and manual handling, with appropriate safety measures.
