The Western Harbour Tunnel is one of Sydney's largest current infrastructure projects, connecting the Warringah Freeway to the Rozelle Interchange via twin tunnels with heavily integrated electrical, mechanical and control systems. ARA Electrical is delivering the M&E; fitout and is looking for experienced Commissioning Engineers to see these systems through testing to handover.
About the Role
You'll be responsible for getting electrical and control systems tested, verified and operational ahead of handover, working alongside construction and design teams to deliver systems that are secure, compliant and fully functional.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute site commissioning plans, procedures and schedules
Deliver Level 2 to Level 4 commissioning across electrical and control systems
Lead a team of electricians and coordinate day-to-day commissioning works with construction and site delivery teams
Run and support Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and Integrated Systems Testing (IST)
Commission critical systems: LV power distribution, tunnel lighting and emergency systems, ventilation, communications and control systems (ITS, OMCS,
PMCS, TMCS etc)
Carry out functional testing, fault finding and system validation
Prepare commissioning documentation, test records and handover reports
Manage defects through to resolution
Ensure compliance with TfNSW requirements, AS/NZS standards and project specifications
Work to WHS procedures and support solid safety outcomes on site
About You
Degree in Electrical Engineering
Commissioning experience on major infrastructure (tunnels, rail, roads or similar)
Sound knowledge of AS/NZS electrical standards
Experience commissioning LV power, lighting, ventilation and control systems
Robust fault-finding and troubleshooting ability
HV switching or electrical authorisation
Familiarity with Hexagon Smart Completions and ITR-based commissioning management
Familiarity with TfNSW specifications and commissioning processes
