Terrain NRM is a community-driven, independent, not-for-profit environmental stewardship organisation, combining the latest science with local knowledge to develop sustainable solutions for the Wet Tropics region.

About the Role:
Lead strategic investment programs to boost natural asset resilience in the Wet Tropics.
Coordinate organisational and regional plans and strategies.
Build and maintain relationships with funders and investors.
Drive and coordinate proposals, grants and business opportunities.
Support the adoption of plans in organisational planning and delivery.
Foster robust internal and external partnerships.
Oversee a small team to plan and prioritise risks and activities.

Skills and Knowledge:
Proven expertise in natural resource management, conservation, environmental science, or environmental markets,



including team leadership.
Solid written and verbal skills for reporting, grant proposals, and qualified relationships.
Commercially astute with a focus on quality and outcomes.
Ability to lead strategic plans, communications, and partnership frameworks with measurable results.
Commitment to continuous learning and self-service practices.

This role is 0.8 to 1.0 FTE (up to 36.25 hrs/week) on a 2-year fixed-term contract, with extension possible. Hybrid work opportunities and flexibility to base from Atherton, Cairns, Innisfail, or Tully. Regional travel required.
