Your current company A small Federal Government agency is seeking an experienced API Developer to join its Technology Services Division as the agency brings critical system integration capability in-house.

You will play a key role in designing, building and supporting secure, scalable APIs that enable the exchange of health information across Australia's digital healthcare ecosystem.
/n
Your new role: Working within a complex integration workplace, you will develop contemporary RESTful APIs, contribute to cloud-native delivery practices, and help improve interoperability between clinical and administrative systems.

What you'll be doing
/n
/n
Designing and developing secure Java-based REST APIs
/n
Delivering APIs aligned to HL7 FHIR healthcare standards
/n
Building solutions with a focus on privacy, security and auditability
/n
Implementing OAuth authentication and authorisation controls
/n
Supporting CI/CD pipelines and Dev Ops practices
/n
Working across containerised environments including Docker and Kubernetes
/n
Collaborating with technical teams, vendors and integration partners
/n
Contributing to API testing, automation and performance improvement initiatives
/n/n
What you'll need to succeed
/n
We're looking for developers with strong API engineering experience and a background in modern software delivery environments.

HL7 FHIR experience
/n
Healthcare application delivery
/n
Java development
/n
REST API design and development
/n
API testing and performance testing
/n
OAuth security frameworks
/n
CI/CD pipelines
/n
Containerisation concepts
/n
Dev Ops or Git Ops practices

End-to-end testing approaches
/n
Highly regarded: Spring Boot or Quarkus

Test automation frameworks

Data integration and mapping experience
