Looking for a tree change, Pengelly Trucks and Trailers, operating in Toowoomba and Roma Qld, is a leading new and used truck and trailer sales, hire, service and maintenance dealership. With an extensive customer base and over 400 units in our hire fleet we are currently seeking a talented and enthusiastic heavy vehicle diesel mechanic to join our expanding workshop team in Toowoomba.
The role is for suitably qualified and experienced heavy vehicle mechanic to work in our contemporary fully equipped workshops.
You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and performing repairs on the company’s extensive and expanding hire fleet, along with our clients' trucks and trailers in accordance with the company’s compliance requirements.
Job Requirements
Heavy vehicle mechanical qualifications – minimum CERT III;
Current motor vehicle licence;
HR Licence (minimum) and High Risk Work Licence (forklift) preferred; and
Experience with Cummins or Detroit engines,
diff and gearbox componentry preferred yet not essential
Key Responsibilities include:
Effectively service and maintain stock and client trucks and trailers in accordance with the appropriate service and maintenance schedules;
Working independently to resolve technical issues;
Interpreting diagnostics, fault finding and trouble shooting; and
Compiling and maintaining maintenance records for work performed
