With ongoing investment in safety and compliance initiatives, an opportunity has become available for an experienced Safety Lead to join their cooperative and high-performing team.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Safety Coordinator, you will play a key role in supporting and enhancing the organisation's WHS framework across a broad range of operational environments.
This is a hands-on position that will see you partnering closely with leaders, employees, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure compliance, manage risk, and promote a proactive safety culture.
You will be involved in both strategic and operational safety activities, making this a strong opportunity for a safety professional who enjoys variety and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain WHS policies, procedures, and work instructions
Conduct workplace inspections, audits, and compliance reviews
Coordinate corrective actions and monitor safety improvement initiatives
Support incident investigations and contribute to root cause analysis activities




Monitor legislative compliance and provide WHS guidance to operational teams
Collect, analyse, and report on safety data, trends, and performance metrics
Support contractor management and workplace consultation processes
Assist with safety training, inductions, and awareness programs
Contribute to emergency management, first aid, and health monitoring programs
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess:
Diploma qualification in Work Health and Safety or a related discipline
Demonstrated experience within a similar position
Strong understanding of WHS legislation, systems, and risk management principles
Experience conducting workplace inspections, audits, and safety investigations
Strong reporting, administration, and documentation skills
Ability to work across multiple business units and operational environments
Highly Regarded
Experience within local government, utilities, infrastructure, construction or facilities management
Knowledge and exposure SIRA requirements
